Heather Fewox-Steen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and qualified supervisor (QS) with vast experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She specializes in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Mood Disorders, family dysfunction issues, childhood disorders, anxiety and depression. Heather’s dedication to her clients, and her client-centered therapeutic approach incorporates evidence-based treatment modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist her patients in healing and working through difficult past events. She will help you identify your strengths and develop a plan that fits your personality, experiences, and current needs to improve your symptoms and overcome adversities.
Through Heather’s work with families, she saw the need to provide specialized treatment for adults with PTSD. She became trained in EMDR and became an expert in treating specialized populations such as veterans, first responders, and other professionals whose jobs have high exposure to trauma and other high-stress situations. She will focus on your strengths, development, and the holistic, multifaceted aspects of improving your daily life.
Heather conducts initial diagnostic interviews and crisis intervention for all mental health issues. She has worked in schools for over five years, primarily focusing on military dependents and their families. Her experience in schools, community-based organizations, and clinical settings makes her an asset to her clients and an advocate for you, your child, or your family. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University with an MS in 2007 and has worked in the mental health field since 2001.
