Raina Burlak is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, EMDRIA Certified, NCC Board Certified Counselor, and a prior-enlisted Navy veteran. She exited active duty service and pursued her professional goals. She completed five degrees, including a graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling to become a highly effective and knowledgeable provider helping her clients use therapy to overcome adversity.

She has been working in the military community for 25 years. Her clinical expertise includes working with first responders, the military community treating individuals and families utilizing standard and transdiagnostic approaches in inpatient and outpatient settings. Her areas of specialty include clients with a full spectrum of dissociative diagnoses, clients who have been victims, and current survivors of trafficking and domestic violence. Raina utilizes EMDR and other trauma-informed approaches to treat sleep disorders, self-harm/injury, anger, rage, suicidal thoughts, nightmares, poly-substance abuse, phobias, depression/anxiety, and relationship issues. Clients are screened at each session to evaluate effectiveness.

Raina is a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association. She has advanced training in mindfulness, moral injury, military sexual trauma, shame and suicidality in veterans, dissociative disorders, and administers advanced testing measures. Her practice hinges on a strength-based and culturally competent approach acknowledging that all people have within them the tools to heal.

Raina’s extensive skills allow clients to receive high-quality EMDR therapy from the comfort of their homes with easy-to-use video conferencing through simple practice. She only offers online video therapy, and her appointments are scheduled for a minimum of 90-minutes. Virtual EMDR requires reliable internet; this may need testing before sessions start.

Insurance companies do not allow extended sessions beyond 60 minutes. The client is responsible for the cost of the additional 30 min session (when using insurance) or the entire 90-minute session when insurance is not used or considered self-pay. The price for an additional 30 minutes is $85, 60 minutes is $165. The self-pay rate for a 90 min session is $257.

Raina occasionally offers intensive in-person sessions on a case-by-case basis in the Destin office. This service is only provided for those requiring additional resources after completing interviews, testing, and established suitability.
