Her clinical work includes working in community mental health and the education system. Liz has extensive experience working with clients of diverse backgrounds and various clinical concerns, including anxiety, depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD).
Liz excels in helping young adults engage in therapy through her creative and collaborative approach. She is also uniquely skilled at supporting young adults in managing social anxiety and relationship challenges. Liz also has extensive experience counseling adults and professionals. She applies a strengths-based approach in counseling, helping clients identify and harness their distinctive personal strengths.
Liz obtained her master’s degree from Denver Seminary, where she received training in integrating Christian faith into counseling. Traumatic experiences can evoke spiritual concerns that clients may wish to discuss. Some seek a safe space to address religious/spiritual abuse or challenges within their faith community, while others seek to integrate their faith into counseling for additional support. Liz provides a secure and non-judgmental space for clients seeking a faith-based approach.
Liz’s specialty training includes advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) through the Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). CBT and EMDR can both assist clients in developing new perspectives and behaviors to alleviate symptoms, and EMDR is a powerful treatment that can effectively address difficult symptoms stemming from trauma. Together, you will find the best approach to progress toward meeting your goals for improved peace in your daily life. Liz has both in-person and video appointments available.
