About Lauren Parrish

MS, LMHC

Lauren is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a decade of clinical experience in treating Mood Disorders, Anxiety, Trauma, and Borderline Personality Disorder.  Lauren has worked with children, adolescents, young adults, active duty, veterans, and adults in various settings from forensic, non-profit, inpatient stabilization, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization.  Within a person-centered framework, Lauren’s therapeutic techniques are based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy (ST).  Lauren is now accepting new clients, ages 18+.

With Lauren’s eclectic clinical background, non-judgmental therapeutic style, and light-hearted personality, she will be able to meet you where you are and help guide you towards where you want to be.  Our goals and ambitions in life are forever changing.  As values and priorities shift over time, what used to meet our needs, may no longer work for us in the here and now.  In order to embrace our personal growth, Lauren believes we must be willing to first accept ourselves, just as we are.  For many, this can sound like the exact opposite of what change is all about, especially if we feel stuck, unfulfilled, embarrassed, or ashamed.  By guiding you step by step, Lauren will encourage you to see change through a different lens: one of compassion and acceptance.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I change.”  – Carl Rogers
